HAPPY SABBATH +The Prayer Family

Okay, Class! Let's continue:

Ernest Lee and Percy Vering Prayer are fraternal twins who are identical!

Their mother, Mayn Lee Prayer, has a twin herself who is called Cahm Lee Prayer.

Huh!?!

Ahmmm..?

But ...?!

Yes, yes!! Ask your question!

How come Mayn Lee Prayer and Cahm Lee Prayer have the same last name if they are both married with children?

Good question!

And the good answer is ...?

Good answer is that a Prayer married a Prayer!

Oooh!

So their names are Mayn Lee and Cahm Lee Prayer-Prayer!

Good gracious!

Get it?

Pray a Prayer!

You crack me up!

Anyway, Mayn Lee is married to Fas N. Prayer whose father is People N. Prayer whose wife is Victoria S. Prayer whose Granny is Abiden Prayer.

Well, you could imagine how it is when all these Prayers come together!

You see, all of these Prayers married other Prayers.

Some have remained faithful and, sadly, a few have not!

There is now a branch in The Family that is totally off the wall:

Vile Prayer-Labyrinth
Laffinh Prayer
Prayer Tudee-Aire and
Du-Spell Ahn Prayer

are creating problems for

DeChurch N. Prayer
Power N. Prayer
Prayer Fuhde Power and Restlin N. Prayer!

Anyway, Goode and Faithful Lorde are the Overseers of the Congregation and they do not stand for nonsense, new-age nuggets, nor one-world common ground foolishness!

They have issued "The Directive" requiring Heartfelt Prayer to be the standard bearer - no exceptions!

There has been much grumbling by the youngsters who want to "go modern," but Steadfast N. Prayer wouldn't allow any deviations, and Re Pente and BeYou Baptized are armed and ready for the fight that is coming.

Never Theless, All Said, Ann Done, Tudee Finish, Gaud S. Gain, and Glory B. Prayzed have joined with Hymm Sing and Gausspel and Gauds Troof at the home of Maintin N.  and Tarree N. Prayer to petition for Power To Overcome.

The triplets, Icahn, Ucahn, and Lettus Prayer sang "God Will Make A Way!" while their father, Daycahn Prayer, played the guitar - their mother Lourdes Prayer said the benediction.

Besides a few black sheep, I am sure Grandfather Godly Prayer would be pleased with his legacy!

The Prayers sound good!

Want to meet one of them?

Sure!

Saint Lee meet This S. Prayer!

Amen!

We All Want The Crown But ...

A beautiful gown!
A gorgeous crown!
I can handle wearing those but
Holding a cross
Doesn't go with my outfit and
Doesn't fit with the frou-frou mood!
Carrying a cross seems, well ... somehow ... lewd!

Who wants to be sorrowing?
Who wants to feel pain?
Who wants to show neglect
When everybody else and his brother sister shows gain?

Who wants to be hungry?
Who wants to go to jail?
Who wants to be die thirsty
From standing on a rusty nail?

Who wants to be hated
For calling on the Lord
When all around people ignore Him
And enjoy special rewards and live loud?

Who wants to be disowned?
Who wants to have their knowledge disavowed
When all around are people
Who live big eating cracked crab and raw cow?

Who wants to drink dirty water?
Who wants to eat weevil bread?
When Uncle Patty and Aunt Danny
Are pouring champagne on each other's head?

NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND!

But ...

Christ-Follower REALITY Check:

We must come to the realization
That serving the Lord is no cake walk
For He told us quite plainly
That following Him will bring out
Vultures and Hawks
Who, for want of a better
See no reason not to God's people afflict
With pain, sorrow, threats and
Trials and denials
Before kings and Queens
Foreign dignitaries
The ones who have their godship
And who spread hate like roman fleas spread disease!

So, buckle up!
Bow your head!
Lift your heart - no pride!
Say a prayer!
Come out of the dark!
God IS good!
God IS great!
God loves His Children!
He holds their fate!
No man like themselves
Can deal draw drag them away
From The God of The Bible
The God in the 23rd Psalm
The God in Psalm 46
The God of Psalm 121
The God of Psalms 19 and 20
And definitely not from the God of beloved Psalm 91!

Okay!
TIME
FOR
A CHANGE OF ATTITUDE!

From This Moment On:

I shall - without reservation
Carry my Cross - splinters and all!
I shall pray without ceasing!
I shall make the Lord my portion!
I will look up for I know
My Help comes from The Lord, God Almighty
All Seeing
All Knowing
Ever Present
Who created All
Who gives to each length of days
Who provides good things
Who is long-suffering toward us
Even when we stray
Who has prepared His Place for us
Who has given us His Holy Spirit
For comfort
And His Hand of Promise
By His Spilt Blood on His Own Cross
That we - when we bear our personal crosses -
Will have the Blessed Assurance
Of Rest, Peace, Love, Joy
Hope, Grace, Mercy
A Victor's Palm
A Robe of Righteousness
A True Gold Crown
A New Name
And the best of All
A Glorious, Immortal Body
And Angelic Escort
To a Personal, Custom Built Mansion
Of His Design
Where we shall A L W A Y S behold His Beautiful Face!
Until then ...
We shall have
Angels to Guard and Guide
Holy Spirit to Comfort and Chide and Direct and Teach and Correct
Courage for the Journey
Strength for Way
The Faith of Jesus
And the Power Of and In Prayer!

THEREFORE, in that Certain Hope, I say:

Father, lift me up
and carry me
as I carry my cross!
Amen.

Hiding Sin?!

I was scheduled to have visitors
But I did not feel like cleaning the house
So I decided that I would hide everything
Behind the sofa, in closets
And just spray - Clean House!

It was then that "it" hit me
That this was what happened with Sin
If you did not clean it right proper
It was always there, hanging out with its, and your, friends!

Boy, did I feel real bad
About what I had intended to do
So I said a quick prayer
And pulled back the rubbish Sin from behind the chair
And opened the closets
And gave the rubbish a breath of Fresh Air!

This whole episode really spoke to the heart of me
It told me that hidden Sin is not hidden at all
For the first time someone opened one of your closets
Hidden Sin will be revealed and you gine ball!

So don't try the hiding old Sin routine
That game has already been played
And the only winner was Satan
That Heathen, That Liar, That Fraud!

When you want to get rid of the old dirt that is defiling
You get out the cleanser that does the work
Same thing with getting rid of old Sin
Call Jesus - The One Who on Calvary Cleaned Our Dirt!

Get Jesus! Just Jesus! Immanuel!
He cleans!
He renews!
He reclaims!
He shelters!
He protects!
He labors!
He Seals!
He Saves!
So that not one repentant sinner is a reject!

JESUS CHRIST -
He Gets The Sin OUT!!

PRAYER: Take Away My 3-D Vision!

Lord, take away my 3-D vision for
It makes me on par with You!
I won't Demand
I don't Decree
Lord, let me not Declare
For this is all part of that Technicolor racket
That keeps You from my true view!
Instead, Lord, give me clean 3-P eyesight -
Sight not encumbered with my bright Self
And help me to prop open the Olde Bible
And learn something to protect my Soul's health!
Father, help me to Pray!
Oh, Lord, help me to Plead!
Help me, My Savior, to Plod-on 'n Plow!
You are the King of Glory!
I will praise You!
This I vow!
Amen.

The Plow and The Altar

DO YOU KNOW
WHERE
YOU WILL be called
to SERVE
THE LORD when the Testing Time comes?

Red Bullock - he was standing
Ready to work as called
He stood betwixt two stations
Plow and Altar proud!

His preparation had been perfect
He was trained unto the Plow
But he was also without blemish
And would make God’s Altar proud!

My friend, this is a metaphor
Of what all Christians should be
For the Father He has promised
To provide strength as our day shall be!

Our stance - we who are called Christians
Should be such that called wherever it be
We should without fear or failing say
Lord, I am ready! Sendest thou me!

Let us, therefore, get ourselves ready
Let us let God guide our way
Let us let God be the Master
Directing us along this life’s highway.

Let us let God teach us daily lessons
Let us learn and not shirk or turn away
Let us let God’s Holy Spirit
Comfort and heal us as we follow God’s Straight Way.

Pray - not pontification
Pray - not sway and walk away
Lead - by God’s Good example
Follow - Jesus on The King’s High Way!

Dear Ones,

The day is fast approaching when we will receive our call to serve our Lord.

Will the call send us to plow the field one last time to tell of God's Love and Faithfulness and coming glory OR will the call to service send us to the Altar of Sacrifice?

No one knows where his call will require him to serve, therefore, let us all prepare, prepare, and pray.

Let us girt our loins with the gospel of truth, and let us, by God's ever loving Grace, set out on the path to Glory knowing that our God will give to us what strength we will need for the way we must walk  ON THE DAY  in which we require same.

Trust God!
Love, Live, and Teach Truth!
Keep your eye on The Prize, and
And let your life be your testimony!
Glory Awaits!

By Your Grace, Lord
Through our holding
To the Faith of Jesus Christ
And by the Covering of
The Blood of Jesus' Sacrifice
Please let the passing of the Coming Test
Be our testimony
Which will lead some poor
Sin-sick soul to accept
Our Beloved Jesus
And put on His Righteousness
And press on to Glory!
Lord, help us to bear much fruit!
Amen.

Believe and Behave!

Believe and Behave
Bless God and don’t be a slave
To the world and its beckoning caves
Of sin where the soul decays!

Believe and Behave
Bless God and don’t be a slave
To the emotional highs and lows
That carry you to Satan through its flows!

Believe and Behave
Bless God and don’t be a slave
To neither money nor men
Nor carnality in the den and glen!

Please, Friend, believe that this life is ending
For your soul there’s contending
Satanic Forces are offending and
Jesus Saves is defending!

Stop and look and listen and STOP
To choose the right side - not the suicide
For there’s either Life with the Loved Glad
Or Loved Life with the Lost Sad!

A decision then must now be made
For even a “no decision” card is the decision played
And the wrong decision equals eternal death in spades
Eternal separation - no Life in Bright Glades!

Believe and know that Christ Jesus Saves!
Behave now as you have for so long prayed!
Pray, pray, and sing His praise in oh so glad song
And you will indeed Live Forever ... e’er long!

Lord, I Need To Hate ...

Lord, I need to hate sin and Satan
Because I love Jesus, My Lord
Give me Your love and great courage
And help me make that hate real lest I fall!

Satan is dogging my footsteps
More it seems with each passing day
Trying to make me believe, the Old Liar
That You really don’t care after all!

I know well that Satan is the liar
I know well that Jesus Christ is really real
I know well that I need to possess Your character
Bless me, Lord, upon this thorny trail!

Father, the trials I face are so many
The blessings I see seem few, and far between
But I know it’s all a deadly delusion
To make me doubt You and act the part of an old fool!

Give me, this day, another victory
Give me another day to - in faith - stand tall
Give me another point of light to my favor
Make me a star for my Jesus, My Lord, My All!

Prayer: Lord, Help Me Not To Make Shipwreck!

Lord, help me not to make shipwreck
Upon the sandy shoals
Of name or rank or talent
Let me upon Christ take hold!

Help me to set aside my self, Lord
Help me, Lord, to lift You up
Give me the strength to give my back to
The accolades of men from the bitter cup!

I beseech You, Lord, for the blessings
That keep my sight raised high
To the Temple of The Eternal
To my mansion in the sky!

Until the Day of Awarding
When Saints have been glorified
Let me not make shipwreck of my faith, Lord
By believing Old Satan's lies!
AMEN.

Prayer: For Help to Maintain Our Allegiance To The Lamb

Father, we hear daily of fellow believers
who are paying with their lives for their faith
and belief in the Lord, Christ.
Help us, Father, to hold to our allegiance to the Lamb
In the face of great and studied opposition and animosity.
Help us to stand against the demon-heart encased
In the flesh of a human who would kill us
For our faith in Jesus Christ.
Help us to keep praying, and obeying
Loving and longing for that home in the realm of the blessed.
Oh Lord, please keep us in Your care, and render us
Willing and able to maintain our allegiance and
At the end, to stand up for:
the Love of the Lord Jesus Christ;
Right-living;
Faithfulness to, and through, Him
Who redeemed us for His own;
Liberty of conscience;
The truth that is the Living Word; and
Our living hope of  Eternal Glory.
AMEN.

Ode to Christian Education

In times of change, the LEARNER will inherit the earth
while the LEARNED will be beautifully equipped
for a world that no longer exists. — Eric Hoffer, American Philosopher

I don’t know about the rest of you
But I grew up in a church school
It all started on a Monday morning
When we had to line up in a long queue

There were children from first form to fifth
And the smaller ones in something called Prep
But the bottom line that I can tell you about
Is that there were no shoulders carrying chips!

We had to study all the usual stuff
Mathematics, English, History and the like
We also had to learn to do a craft
Just in case the economy didn’t last

The emphasis at our church school, was on raising good students
Good people, and especially good citizens for the world to come
So naturally we had to study our memory verses
And learn about something called Facing Life!

I remember my first form teacher, Sister Josiah
Big of heart and body too
She taught me that I could do anything
And showed me how to prove it too!

Sister Watts taught us girls home economics,
Sewing, crochet, embroidery, and cooking
She said any woman who had skills like these
Would always know how her family to feed

Brother Forde taught us our Facing Life class
Dealing with everything from relationships to dealing with self
He taught us that we needed to be strong decision-makers
Never fearful to take care of our selves!

I remember having a terrible temper, and one day was asked to apologize
The apology wasn’t deserved, I didn’t feel sorry, and it showed
So Sister Bayne, our principal, she called me aside, and said
Betty! If you don’t mean it, don’t ever compromise!”

Our church school went further than was necessary
And brought in a celebrity guest to teach,
Her name was Marva Manning and I’ve never forgotten
Anything that she said in her speech

Ms. Manning taught us about dressing on a budget
And how to get our clothing to segue from day to night
She taught us how to be quietly elegant
And how to modulate our voices just right!

And finally there was my fifth form teacher
Sister Maitland, that was her name
She’s the person I’ll always remember
Because of a wonderful game she played.

It was our last semester in high school
When Sister Maitland said she could tell us, each one, who we were
Of course no one believed her
And then the Class was in total uproar!

Sister Maitland had a new name for every student she taught
Which she said epitomized the attributes we displayed
I remember waiting with bated breath
Until my name Sister Maitland gave!

My name, according to the good Sister
Was “Always Willing to Try!”
She explained that that name suited me perfectly
Because I was never afraid to give life a try!

In all the years since I’ve left my church school
I’ve tried valiantly to live up to my second given name
And I can tell you without fear of contradiction
That I have proudly lived up to, and worn, my name!

The results of many of the lessons we learnt
Were often not obvious until we left school
And that was when respect for self, and others, and faith in our Almighty God
Carried us forth to live life most nobly

Our teachers were men and women of great faith
Who strongly believed that teaching was their calling to serve
They loved us, each one, as if we were their own special child
And proudly taught us and guided us to the Word.

So, if you still have doubts about, the value of a Christian education
Look around you as we celebrate today
You’ll see gallant men, noble women, willing workers, lifelong learners, not one shirker

Gladly serving each other in the world, through the Word.

Prayer to Receive a Mustard Seed Faith

Father, have mercy on me.
With every passing day of my life
I realize more and more that I lack faith.
I talk all the time about how much faith I have in You
And how I know that You will never fail me nor forsake me.
Problem is, Father, it is a very shallow faith because it works
As long as things go how I want them to go.
Father, I am sorry for this good time faith that I have been practicing
Whereby I have been looking at my situation, and not at You,
And I ask You, in mercy, to give me enduring faith.
I am pleading, Lord, for the faith, the mustard seed faith
Of which the Master spoke. I need that faith which
lets me sit, or rest, in quiet and enduring confidence,
Unshaken at the convulsions taking place around me.
Help me to forget what tomorrow holds and, instead,
Remember Who holds tomorrow.
Help me to submit my will, and my way, to You and help me
To accept, without murmur or complaint,
That all my trials are for the perfecting of my character.
Grant me, Lord, faith as big as a mustard seed
So that I can not just say that I have faith,
But that I will be unwavering in my belief that I truly have
The faith which orders my life, so that my life, and living, will be an
Exemplar of Your faith, and faithfulness, working in me.
I ask this mercy in the matchless name of Christ, the King,
And I thank You for the gift that is today.
AMEN

Prayer for When Hearts are Burdened

Father,
Sadness is all around
For the burdened, the bothered, and the bullied
Who are searching for a way to find rest from these earthly woes.
Please provide a balm to soothe their troubled minds
And
Help them to find Your Blessed Peace.

Father, sickness is all around
And
Were it not for Your Living Word
We would be scared indeed.
Please help us to always keep in our minds that
You are the Great Physician,
And
There is always a Balm in Gilead.

Father,
Death is all around
And
Were it not for Your Holy Word
We would be sorrowful
But, blessedly, You have taught us
Not to mourn as the heathen do, and to comfort each other
With the knowledge that the Dead in Christ shall rise first
And
We Who are alive, and remain
Shall be caught up together with them
To meet our Lord in the air.
What a blessed assurance!

Oh, Father, draw us nearer to You
As we reach for You in our distresses.
Please open our eyes
To see You clearer and clearer still
With every passing hour.

Please help us to stand upon the Blessed Words of
Life and Comfort
As we live our lives as Strangers for a Holy Cause.

Father,
We humbly beseech You for a glimpse of Glory
For just a fleeting moment.
Give us strength to stand upon The Shore today.

Oh, come soon, Great Lord
And
Take us to our Eternal Home in Glory
Where the Old Order is forever gone
And
All is Peace.
Until then, please guard, guide, and protect us from
The Wiles of The Devil
And
Please provide us with Care and Comfort
And
Help and Healing
All according to Your Will and in Your Holy Way.

These Mercies we humbly ask
In The Matchless Name of King Jesus
And
We Thank You for hearing and answering our Heartfelt Prayers.
We love You.
AMEN

Choose Jesus

Choose Jesus

I decided to follow Jesus
No one made that decision for me
I understood quite well what it was that I was doing
And I look forward in faith to eternity

I knew that there would be problems
With friends, family and associates
Who wondered aloud about whatever was the big deal
About having wings and sitting all day on a cloud

They said that Christianity was just a panacea
For the old, the young, and the very strange
And asked me a question, oh quite directly
If I was sure I was getting deranged?

I tried not to be offended since
I knew they had all been misinformed
Misdirected, and even lied to
So I decided to try to repair the brand

Jesus loves all the little children
Sinners, the blind, the halt and even the deaf
He heals and comforts, and He gently restores them
And invites all to spend Eternity with Him by and by

Jesus gave each, and every body, a free will
To their own path and way to choose
Whatever decision you decide to make is yours, friend
But there is Heaven to gain should you so choose

There will be Peace in that Valley of Promise
But the Vale of Tears, thank God, will be no more
We'll meet the Righteous, and the Heroes of all the ages
And live in harmony first a millennium in the sky

Oh, how I long to talk with my Creator
And ask Him questions that only He the answers know
To rest, and to speak to all of the sages
Whose inspired wisdom He caused to overflow

I choose Jesus to love, to obey and honor
For His yoke is easy, and even His burden it is very light
Trust Him, reach out, and hold even to death on to Him
You'll see Him face to face, forever, by and by

Love Him, and keep His commandments to prove it
Endeavor to live a life of purity – He will aid
Cast aside the idols and fleshly lusts that ensnare you
He'll soon be here at the unfolding of the sky

Give Him your heart, your will and your way, friend
He died to prove that you're important to Him
Trust no one else to guide, protect and to shield you
Jesus Christ will call you His very own elect

Very soon, King Jesus and the entourage of Heaven
Will all appear in that bright eastern sky
The Dead-in-Christ will rise, and the Living Faithful will join them
Together they'll meet King Jesus, with the angels, in the sky

Won't you please join me and choose King Jesus
To love, to worship, and, yes, we must Him adore
He, alone, is faithful, He's not a man that He'd have to lie
He proved His love for you – He was scourged, He bled and then He died!

He has inscribed our names in the palms of His hands
So, please, don't fear the enemy of our souls
Christ covered us believers in His blood's sacrifice
So come plod on, the end is drawing nigh

Lord, strengthen us, for the battle that is coming
Give us Grace to stand, and comfort You our souls
We hold the Promise – Eternal Life! Yes! Forever more!
For our God sits down upon The Great White Throne!

Let's hold the fort for we know that He is coming
Let's labor on whilst it is yet the day
The night is coming where no man can labor
So let's join in prayer for God's everlasting day!

Father: We love You, we praise You, and we worship You.
Have mercy on us even as we pray. AMEN

You know that He can bear them
Live for His Kingdom coming very soon
