SABBATH REST - The Fourth Commandment of the Decalogue

The FOURTH Commandment

8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 20: 8-11 (Authorized King James Version)

The Fourth Commandment of the Decalogue contains the SEAL of God and a blessing!

Just like the seal of the President of the United States of America, or the seal of any other nation, the FOURTH Commandment states the following information:
  • Name: The Lord, thy God
  • Title: Creator
  • Territory: heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is.
The BLESSING given within this Commandment is:
  • Sabbath rest!
      The Lord, Himself,
  1. Rested;
  2. Blessed; and
  3. Hallowed the Sabbath,
meaning that the Almighty set it apart and made it holy unto Himself  as a reminder to all people, nations and tongues, in perpetuity, i.e.: forever, as a memorial to His creative powers, and to come to Him on the one day that He named, and specified, to commune with Him, and our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ, and to rest, and be blessed.

All those who will be travelling to the Eternal City will KEEP THE SABBATH OF THE LORD, THY GOD, before they arrive at the Eternal City, for all who enter there MUST keep ALL Ten Commandments!

(Revelation 22)
14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.-**BJC**
