VESPERS AT THE END OF THE SABBATH: Times And Things!

 

The Lord Be Ever Praised!

Our Town Was Always Hopping! 

The People Were Wild And Wooly 

And

You Were Guaranteed An Experience 

Sure To Take A Few Years Off Your Life 

On Any Given Weekend! 

At Least It Had Been So 

Until Master Jesus Opened Grace 'N Mercy! 

Grace' N Mercy Was A Different Kind Of Establishment! 

It Didn't Sell Anything! 

It Had No Cash Registers

No Security Guards

And 

No Officious Sales Associates! 

Their Slogan, Written In A Strangely Comforting 3-D Bright Red, Was 

"New Lives For Old!" 

Truth Be Told

I Had Been Getting Tired, Really Tired, Of My Old Life 

So I Said To Myself: 

"What The Hay!?!" 

And 

Boldly Walked In Like I Owned The Place! 

I Was Met By The Master Himself 

And 

He Explained What I Would Need To Do 

To Get A New Life From Him! 

He Sounded Sincere

Had A Lovely Voice Which Was Truly Comforting

And 

His Offer Appeared To Be Legit! 

The Only Thing That I Balked At 

Was When He Said That I First Had To Get My Eyes Healed

Get My Ears Unstopped

And 

My Tongue Cleansed With Some Hot Coal 

From His Altar Of Sacrifice (Really!?!) 

And Then 

Empty Everything From My Pockets

My Purse

And 

My Tote Bag Before Stripping Myself Bare ... In His Presence! 

I Looked At His Cross-eyed And Said: 

"Pull The Other Finger!" 

Master Jesus Just Continued Looking At Me With Amazing Love 

And 

Great Compassion In His Beautiful Eyes 

Before Gently Touching My Right Hand With His Own! 

I Saw That His Hand Was Severely Marred! 

I Looked Up Into His Face 

And 

It Was Then That I Saw The Terrible Scars Across His Forehead! 

But, But ...!!! 

It Couldn't Possibly Be Him! 

I Shook My Head To Clear My Mind! 

Something Happened! 

Joy Flooded My Very Being 

And 

I Committed To Making That Transaction! 

Beloved, 

I Said All Of That To Tell You That 

My Old Crazy Self 

And 

My Wild And Wooly Town Started Slowly Changing! 

It Seemed That We All, Willing

Had Gotten New Leases On Life 

As In We Had Received New Life 

Just For Trusting The Word Of The Blessed Life-Giver! 

Truth Must Be Told:

It Had Truly Been A Great Day 

When Master Jesus Had Opened His Door

- Became The Door - 

In Our Town! 

What A Wonderful Change Is Being Wrought! 

Oh, The Peace That Passes Human Understanding! 

VESPERS AT THE END OF THE SABBATH: Look At Foolishness!

 

Have-All Got-Nothing Was The BMIT Aka The Big Man In Town 

And

To Promote It

He Drove A Brand New BMW Aka Big Man Wagon! 

He Had Big Bucks 

And 

He Could Buy And Sell Anything

Everything

And 

Anybody In Town! 

Everybody, Somebody, And Nobody At All 

Were Afraid Of Him! 

What  People Didn't Know Was That In Truth And In Fact That 

It Was He Who Was Afraid Of Them 

Because 

Without Their Fear Of Him

He Had No Control Over Them! 

Look At Bare Foolishness! 

He Was The Boogeyman Who Didn't Have A White Sheet To Wear 

Nor A Night-Wind To Blow It About! 

Have-All Got-Nothing Was Just Like That Laodicean Church 

Which Said It Was Rich And Increased With Goods 

And 

Had Need Of Nothing 

But Was, Instead

Wretched, Miserable, Poor, Blind, And Naked! 

Beloved, 

Saying Something Doesn't Make It So! 

Believing Something Doesn't Make It True! 

Throwing Ones Wealth And Weight Around 

To Make Others Fear And Tremble 

Doesn't Make One Almighty God 

... And ... 

Christians Who Doubt The Eternal Word Of The Everlasting Father 

Are Calling Almighty God A Liar 

When We Tremble And Live In Fear Before Mere Men 

... And ... 

That Damned-Forever Father-Liar, Satan! 

All Men Have A Master 

...  And ... 

So Does Satan, Too! 

Brethren, 

Please Let Us Tremble And Fear Before The Lord

The King Of Glory ... Our Maker, Sustainer

Maintainer, Savior, Friend, And Redeemer 

For He Is The Truth

Our Peace

Our Life

And 

The Light Of Every Man Aka Human! 

Peace! 

VESPERS AT THE END OF THE SABBATH: PRAYER For Help!

PRAYER:

Oh, Heavenly Father, 

Please Have Mercy On Us Who Are Distressed

Walking In Darkness, Deceived

Doubting The Deliverance Paid For And Promised 

And Provided To Whosoever Sees Their Need

And Is Willing To Reach For The Extended Hand Of Him

Who Is Our Hope, Bringing Help And Healing

And Is The One Door To The Heavenly Home! 

Please Help Us To Not Yield To The Taunts And Temptations Of 

The Naysayers, The Scorners, The Liars

The Licentious, The Proud, The Perverse

And The Affluent And Boldly Willing Sinners 

Who Are Unafraid And Unashamed

And Are Vociferously Calling Others 

To Follow Them To Satan's Planned And Man-Purveyed Ruin! 

Please Unstop Our Ears So That We May Truly Hear Your Truth! 

Please Apply The Heavenly Eye-Salve

So That Our Eyes May Be Healed 

And We Will Truly See The Light Which Leads To Everlasting Life! 

Oh, That A Coal From The Altar In Heaven May Be Applied To Our Lips 

So That We May Be Cleansed Of Our Iniquities

And Purged Of Our Sin! 

Oh, Father, 

Let It Be That We, Willing To Be Saved, Will Say: 

"Without Our Lord Jesus, We Cannot Do Anything!" 

And, In Faith, Nothing Wavering

Commit To Our Lord

And To Taking The Way Of The Cross Which Leads Home! 

Hear Our Earnest Prayer 

And Answer Us According To Your Will 

And In Your Way 

For We Ask These Blessings In Jesus Christ's Holy Name!
