HAPPY SABBATH and Pastors Pedaling Pablum

Preacher, why are you pedaling pablum?
Why, Sir, do you obfuscate?
Don’t you know we are nearing the City
Where sinners cannot enter in the Gate?

Why do you declare and decree that
God has promised earthly riches to all
When you know that is not what the Word says
And you know that you’re misrepresenting the Lord?

Why do you tell believers that Jesus wants them
To be perfectly happy in this life
When you know that we are just passing through?
Have you no fear of the Father
For it seems that Satan is ruling you?!

Why do you make the faithful believe that
Our God just needs a belly rub
Like He is just a Happy Buddha
Who gives spurious profits, peace and love?

Why do you not preach sin and repentance?
Why do you not preach salvation and grace?
Why do you not preach of the coming Judgment
When the lost will face permanent disgrace?

Why are you telling the people that God does not care
What we say, do, or are?
Don’t you know that God will hold you responsible
For those lost souls at the Judgment Bar?

Won’t you stop lying to the lost, worn and wandering?
Won’t you stop making Christianity a disgrace?
Won’t you stop making the faith of the faithful
Something you can pick up like a win at a horse race?

Repent, be reformed, seek God’s revelation!
Stop letting feelings and experiences guide your way
For Jesus Christ, Himself, He the Creator, said
“Come, let us reason today!”

Almighty God is the God of All Order
Almighty God gives every man a measuring cup
And the way you are misleading God’s people
Tells all that your cup is filling up!

So, if you want God’s wrath poured out upon you
Without mercy, undiluted, full strength
Continue the lawlessness that you are doing
And, believe me, upon you God’s indignation will be shed!

“Come out from among her my people!"
This message from God is a loud cry!
Come out, and live God’s people, for why, pray tell
Should you give up eternal life and forever die?

Buy truth, sell it not, all ye faithful!
Trust God and not mammon esteem!
Wear faith, hope, love, and charity for garments
And the Great God will bless you indeed!

Prayer: Father, Help Me!

Draw Me Nearer / I Need Thee

Father, please help me!

Help me to not denigrate Your holiness as I elevate my humanity to be like Christ, under the agency of Your Holy Spirit, for You are God.

Father, help me to express godly sorrow and show true repentance when the Holy Spirit convinces and convicts me of sin and error.

Help me to be constant in my acceptance that You are true in Your Word when You say that You have cast my confessed sins into the sea of Your forgetfulness, and help not to allow Satan to make me trot out confessed sin, wearing it as a hair-shirt and indulging in self-flagellation and thereby displaying my total lack of faith in Your faithfulness.

Father, you have forgiven my sins time and again, and I am asking You to help me to forgive those who seemingly relish their sin against me as they gleefully pay me the lip service that is their repentance, and help me to measure their repentance by Your yardstick, and not my own, for my hands are not clean nor is my heart pure, and I am truly fearful of what I would do without Your help and leading.

Father, it is really very hard to be kind to the unkind, to love the unlovely in spirit, to not denigrate the disparaging, and to be a blessing to the hateful so I am asking you, Lord, to help me look beyond their faults to find their need, and to be willing to provide that needed and necessary assistance as Your Holy Spirit leads.

Help me to stop being judgmental.

Help me to stop procrastinating with the tasks You have laid before me.

Help to stop speaking with a forked tongue.

Help to not be arrogant in my conviction of my rightness but at all times to display a Christ-like spirit in my interactions.

Help me to display humble boldness in my defense of  truth, for truth does not require color, nor spin, nor explanation by a sharp and arrogant tongue.

Help me, Father, to find it in my heart to feel pity for those who do not care to pity themselves nor their circumstance nor situation, and to remember that, were it not for my acceptance of Your free grace I, too, would be in their condition.

Help me to show Your love by my willingness to do for my fellow pilgrims on the journey that is this life.

Help me also, Father, to stop acting as though I can save the world, or anyone, and help me to give all my burdens to You, for You are able to save, to help, and to heal.

Father, help me to be like the Apostle Paul to, in all things, and at all times, hungry or full, in want or in abundance, give thanks.

And, Father, help me to so live my life, that Your name may always be glorified.

I ask these mercies in the name of Prince Immanuel, and thank You for hearing and answering my prayers.

I love You, Lord.

AMEN

Choose Jesus

Choose Jesus

I decided to follow Jesus
No one made that decision for me
I understood quite well what it was that I was doing
And I look forward in faith to eternity

I knew that there would be problems
With friends, family and associates
Who wondered aloud about whatever was the big deal
About having wings and sitting all day on a cloud

They said that Christianity was just a panacea
For the old, the young, and the very strange
And asked me a question, oh quite directly
If I was sure I was getting deranged?

I tried not to be offended since
I knew they had all been misinformed
Misdirected, and even lied to
So I decided to try to repair the brand

Jesus loves all the little children
Sinners, the blind, the halt and even the deaf
He heals and comforts, and He gently restores them
And invites all to spend Eternity with Him by and by

Jesus gave each, and every body, a free will
To their own path and way to choose
Whatever decision you decide to make is yours, friend
But there is Heaven to gain should you so choose

There will be Peace in that Valley of Promise
But the Vale of Tears, thank God, will be no more
We'll meet the Righteous, and the Heroes of all the ages
And live in harmony first a millennium in the sky

Oh, how I long to talk with my Creator
And ask Him questions that only He the answers know
To rest, and to speak to all of the sages
Whose inspired wisdom He caused to overflow

I choose Jesus to love, to obey and honor
For His yoke is easy, and even His burden it is very light
Trust Him, reach out, and hold even to death on to Him
You'll see Him face to face, forever, by and by

Love Him, and keep His commandments to prove it
Endeavor to live a life of purity – He will aid
Cast aside the idols and fleshly lusts that ensnare you
He'll soon be here at the unfolding of the sky

Give Him your heart, your will and your way, friend
He died to prove that you're important to Him
Trust no one else to guide, protect and to shield you
Jesus Christ will call you His very own elect

Very soon, King Jesus and the entourage of Heaven
Will all appear in that bright eastern sky
The Dead-in-Christ will rise, and the Living Faithful will join them
Together they'll meet King Jesus, with the angels, in the sky

Won't you please join me and choose King Jesus
To love, to worship, and, yes, we must Him adore
He, alone, is faithful, He's not a man that He'd have to lie
He proved His love for you – He was scourged, He bled and then He died!

He has inscribed our names in the palms of His hands
So, please, don't fear the enemy of our souls
Christ covered us believers in His blood's sacrifice
So come plod on, the end is drawing nigh

Lord, strengthen us, for the battle that is coming
Give us Grace to stand, and comfort You our souls
We hold the Promise – Eternal Life! Yes! Forever more!
For our God sits down upon The Great White Throne!

Let's hold the fort for we know that He is coming
Let's labor on whilst it is yet the day
The night is coming where no man can labor
So let's join in prayer for God's everlasting day!

Father: We love You, we praise You, and we worship You.
Have mercy on us even as we pray. AMEN
