Giving Thanks! For All Things!?! + Prayer

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

It Is A Good And Wonderful Thing To Be Thankful
To Bless Almighty God In Jesus Christ's Holy Name
For All The Bounties We Receive
The Most Of Which Our Minds Didn't Think
The Request To Conceive!

We Give Thanks For The Pleasures
The Treasures
The Good Days
The Days Great

But

Brethren Beloved,

Let Us Dare Today
To Give Thanks For The Challenges
The Tests
The Trials That By The Worldly-Wise
We Are Told That We Should Hate!

PRAYER:

Dear Lord,
We Humbly Thank You For The Difficulties We Face
Which We Know Are For The Perfecting Of
Our Christian Character
Which Will Have Us Ready To Meet You
In Perfect Peace!

We Are Thankful Always
For Food, Family, And Friendship
And
Even The Few Foes
Who Drive Us To The Throne Of Grace
Into The Hands Of Him Who
Our Every Need Knows!

Please Remember Our Brethren
By Blood, Faith, And Affection
And
Keep Us All In Your Holy Care
As We Await The Glad Day Of Our Elevation
To The Land Of The Blest
Where We Shall No More Be Reckoned
As Being Among The Least!
Thank You For This Blessed Day's Feast!

Please Bless Us To Be Humble, Faithful
Giving, Kind, And Ever True
As We Diligently Seek
To Become More And More Like You!

Thank You, Lord
For Always Being So Very Good To Us!
We Love You!
Please Come For Us Soon!
AMEN!!!

Missionary Volunteers

Greetings, Dear Ones!

HAPPY SABBATH!

How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Have your feet been hiding out in socks and under blankets like mine have been these last few days? Fall weather has arrived and it is surely making its presence felt!

Today I want to talk about doing mission work - the purpose of this blog - and missionaries ... for Jesus. Isn't that what we are called to be? (Go ye into all the world ...! Mark 16:15)

Many of us, myself included, wanted to be missionaries when we heard the mission stories from exotic and far-flung destinations; when we heard about the Lord's mighty hand moving amongst native tribes in these various destinations, and the many miracles experienced by those in the mission field. That was the life!

Then we grew up, life interrupted, and we forgot the dream until one day we, you, me, felt, saw, heard, or smelt something ... .

Our offering today is about the pull  one feels when  "I Want to be a Missionary!"

Enjoy, and don't forget to share!

Be well, and be gloriously blessed,

BJ

I Want to be A Missionary

I want to be a missionary
But … I don't want to have to go abroad
Because … I have neighbors and even family
Who don't know – or believe – in God!

I want to be a missionary
But … I don't want to pack a bag
Or get a shot, or even a passport
I know that my parents will be glad!

My mission field … will be in my township
My passport … will be the Holy Word
My shot … is the Spirit of the Lord, and
My bag … is showing care, and fellowship!

Don't worry … about traveling abroad, Friend
Charity … begins at home!
Just grow … where you have been planted

And God … you He will defend! **BJC**

Today I am Counting ... BLESSINGS!

Greetings, Dear Ones!

Today, I am

Counting Blessings!

I awoke this morning and thought
What a blessing!”
I looked at the sunrise and thought
What a blessing!”
And then as I started my busy day,
It dawned on me and I thought to myself
I’ve got a lot to be thankful for so I know I should
be counting blessings!”

I sat down for a little while and did a short review
Yes, of course, there were blessings to count
And more than just a few!

Blessing No. 1 - I’d awakened today
Blessing No. 2 - I was healthy
Blessing No. 3 - inside the cupboard door
Blessing No. 4 - I was wealthy

I cast around inside my life
Looking for blessings to count
And as I concentrated on this
The blessings started to mount!

Blessing No. 5 - is hands that could work
Blessing No. 6 - seeing eyes
Blessing No. 7 - is ears to hear
Blessing No. 8 - I’m alive!

I thought some more and realized
So far I’d thought just of me
I’d not even touched on family and friends
Counting blessings could take at least a week!

I knew I’d never complete the task
Of counting the blessings that I had received
So I just gave up this impossible task
And instead thanked God on my knees!

As I got up from giving thanks
I vowed to count blessings each day
Even though the blessings are infinite

At least I can say “Thank YOU!” when I pray!**BJC**

Pray or Party

Greetings, Dear Ones!

I hope that all is well with you, and yours!

For those of us in the United States of America, this is the last holiday before the start of the Fall season. This holiday is Labor Day which means barbecues, picnics, family gatherings, and more. It is also marks the "end" of Summer, and points to back-to-school time.

If you live in Brooklyn, New York, this is the day of the biggest party in the United States. This day - the first Monday in September - for the last 50 years is the celebration called West Indian Labor Day Parade where it is expected that some 1,000,000 people will participate.

It is because of this, and other reasons relevant to us Christians, that I have written a new poem entitled Pray or Party. The song of Praise is Take My Hand, Precious Lord.

Let us as one body in Christ raise up the revelers to the Throne of Grace, and pray that by the end of the festivities, some soul will be drawn to call the Good Lord, Blessed.

Please enjoy your day with your families, and endeavor in all things to put Our God first.

May Holy Spirit comfort and guide you this day, and always, and may Jesus Christ be praised.

New Page Added entitled "My Testimony"

Greetings, Dear Ones!

I hope that your day was blessed, and that all is indeed well with you, and your loved ones!

I have added a new page entitled "My Testimony!" It is indeed my personal testimony, and it is written as poetry.

"My Testimony!" is the story of my journey toward finding my way back home to the Family of Faith (not that I ever left), and it was written about eleven (11) months after I came close to losing my life in an accident.

I have one very clear memory of that event when, as I was in a crosswalk, a vehicle picked me up and tossed me out of my shoes and sent me flying through the air: I remember being physically, and very slowly and gently, let down to the ground.

Afterward, I was told that I should have been dead BUT The Lord obviously had very different plans for me.

My health, life and living were changed drastically, but I am thankful to be alive.

I believe with all my heart that I am, and have been, kept alive for a purpose, and I am willing, The Lord knows when He will be ready for me, and He will ensure that I am able to perform whatever task He has ordained for me.

It is my prayer that some one soul may be blessed by this outpouring,

BJC
