VESPERS AT THE OF THE SABBATH: Uninvited Guests

Father, I am having a celebration
The invited guests are in the door
But there is one uninvited
And he is being a gully-bore!

I checked my list - no errors!
I did a head-count - 24!
But over there in the corner
Is some extra - acting like they're common at the core!

I invited Kindness and Goodness,
Temperance, Joy, Peace and Love
Happy, Beauty of Spirit and Laughter
Not Stubbornness, nor Grudge!

Appreciation and Candor
Lightness of the Heart
Study to Show Thy Self Approved
Not Turn-Over People's Apple-carts!

Delight Thyself in Jesus
Love Your Enemy
Meek and Lowly in Heart
Definitely not Be Thou Self-Deceived!

Wait on The Lord, Kind Shepherd
Heaven At The Last
Gentleness and Mercy
Not Traction and Body-cast!

Holiness is present!
Righteousness is here, too!
But standing over there - smiling and snoring
Are Sin and Selfishness! Boohoo!

Father, I beg You! Do something!
I really don’t want them here
For they spoil every gathering
With their friends Always Lying and Bring Beer!

Dear Child, Why are you worried?
Don’t you know that I am always near!
Firm your spine, for you bowed and delivered
A faithful and heartfelt prayer!

Your true companions will deliver and protect you
From those uninvited guests
For you are my faithful in body and spirit
And I answer at your behest!

Gather all your invited
Raise a song and sing happily
The Angels are surrounding and
No one will be bothering thee!

I look after My children and
I answer all their prayers!
Keep Me at the forefront
And Sin and Selfishness will be blowing hot air!

Father, Dear Father, I thank You!
You always give me such cheer!
You love me!
I bless You!
I'm grateful!
Lord, I love You!
Amen!

Sinning Is No Pleasure

Sinning is no pleasure

It gives the body no ease

It comes through the heart of man

And gives one “Lost Kingdom” disease!

Sinning is a false profit

It gives the soul no rest

It nags, and gives the conscience fleas

Until the soul repents and confess!

Sinning is an act of rebellion

It’s as witchcraft is what God says

It is better to let Christ guide your life

So that you may have eternal days!

Turn your loss through sin
Into a Jesus Christ win!

Rambling: Because of Sin

Because of Sin

Because of sin these old bones are a-creaking
Because of sin these eyes just don’t quite see fine
Because of sin I covet, I steal, and cheat the tax collector
And pretend to all that my life here is sublime!

I need a God - the one that can hear me
I need a God that can answer my prayers
I need a God who is always at the ready
The God in whose hands I have been stained!

I’m not into divas for they are  just idols
The only goddess I recognize is potty porcelain
The only God I believe in is the Almighty
For everything else is just plainly profane!

I am sick and tired of being sick, and being tired
I am sick and tired of sin’s humongous cost to me
I am sick and tired of this old world and where it’s headed
And can’t wait for Jesus to come and rescue me!

All around me nothing is what it appears to be
All around me is death, dying and decay
All around me there seems to be no hope for
Mouth giants without substance are holding sway!

Oh Lord, You know that this heart is feeble
Oh Lord, You know that my courage is ready to fail
Oh Lord, help me to stand up on Your Word, and
Give me Your strength to help me to hold strain!

Father, I bless You and, yes, I do reverence You!
Father, I bless You for Jesus taking the blame
For, Father, without Him, without His sacrifice, His dying
I would live my life as though sinning is something really game!

But ... because Jesus Christ took on the form of a servant
But ... because Jesus Christ took off His divinity
Because His heart hurt so badly for humanity
Because He suffered, bled, died and resurrected to Glory
Father, I can come freely unto to thee!

Thank God for Jesus!

Father, please keep us faithful, and ever in an attitude of readiness, for The Day is hastening toward us! Amen.

Prayer: For Protection

BUT JESUS IS MY

SO THAT I CAN SAY:

Oh, Lord, there are so many questions

That I need to answer

As I venture out each day to

Face those in the high and byways,
Whether friend or foe,
Adversary or associate,
Benefit or burden,
Leech or love.

I ask You for Your covering.

I ask You, Lord, to lead me and
Help me to do what You want me to do
In whichever circumstance I find myself.
Help me to remember that there is no place that
You can bring me to, that You cannot carry me through.

I ask You, Lord, to guide my footsteps and

Let me not pick up the fleas of sin that

Attach themselves to the warm body

That lacks the Living Power that

Heals, seals, and protects from the wiles of Satan.
Lord, where there is a lack within
Please instill, and fill me.

Give me Your strength, Lord, and 

Help me, through Your Grace,
To stand up aright, and stand ... victorious!
