VESPERS AT THE END OF THE SABBATH: Remember Gideon's Army!

KJV Judges 7:17

17 And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.

The Composition OfJudge Gideon's Army Should Be 

A Warning And Clue

A Hope And A Help To Us Collectively And Individually 

On This Our Pilgrim Journey! 

Beloved, 

Think On This: 

The Trumpet Sounding A Call To Arms 

Blew A Distinctive Sound Saying:

"Enemies About And Abound!

Help Needed! 

Come Now!" 

Thirty-Two Thousand Willing And Able Souls Answered The Call 

And 

Were Provisioned For Battle! 

The Almighty Sent Word Commanding:

"If You Are Afraid, Go Home!" 

Twenty-Two Thousand Frightened Souls Laid Down Their Arms 

And 

Went Home! 

Was It To Their Home-Home 

Or To Their Long-Home Until The Resurrection!?! 

Many Able Christians Ask The Lord To Let Them Rest In The Grave 

Because 

They Are Fearful Of Giving In To The Flesh During The Time Of Trouble 

And, Thereby

Disappointing The Lord! 

Ten Thousand Willing Souls Were Left To Face 

The Marauding Horde Of The Enemy! 

The Almighty Then Proceeded To Test These Souls 

To Draw Out An Elite Force 

To Fight The Good Fight Of Faith! 

Of The 10,000 Souls Thought Ready For Earthly Battle

Only 300 Souls Were Found Fit To Fight The Good Fight 

After Drinking At The Water ... Of Truth! 

Nine Thousand, Seven Hundred Souls Were Sent Home 

For Being Unwary

And 

For Being Careless 

In Their Preparation For Scorched-Earth War! 

Being Unwary And Careless Kills! 

Consider That ... 

There Was Going To Be Life After The War 

So Was It A Case Where The Almighty Was Sending Them Home-Home 

With The Full Knowledge Of Why They Were Sent Home 

So That They Would Have The Opportunity To Repent, Regroup

And 

Be Re-Educated By The Holy Spirit 

On And In The Living Word!?! 

Dear Ones, 

Those 300 Vigilant, Watchful, Souls 

Were Issued Lights ... Which Were Covered With Clay Jars

And 

Trumpets! 

(Are We Not Vessels Of Clay Holding Treasure?) 

At The Appointed Hour

In Their Three  Ranks

And 

Silently Waiting In Their Assigned Places

They Followed The Good Word Of Their Leader 

To Do As He Did While Uttering What He Had Said: 

"For The Lord And For Gideon!" 

In Obedience 

And 

Energized By The Word

They Broke Their Clay Jars

Held Aloft Their Bright Lights

And 

Energetically Uttered The God-Breathed Word 

And 

Utterly Routed The Enemy Of Souls! 

Brethren, 

Gideon Is A Type Of Christ! 

Those 22,000 Souls Who Had Been Afraid Of The Battle 

And 

Were At Home-Home

Would Ultimately See That They Were Unnecessarily Afraid 

Because 

The Battle Was A Spiritual Battle 

Fought By The Lord Himself 

Using Men Using The Brightly Shining Light Of Life 

And 

The Unmistakable, Unforgettable Word Of Truth! 

Preparation Is Only Good 

If 

We Believe In What We Are Doing 

And 

Trust Him Who Is Our Leader! 

I Pray That The Light Of Life Of The Lord Is Hidden In You

- The Jar Of Clay - 

Until The Day Appointed For Its Revealing! 

You, Me, We Have A Job Of Work To Do!

6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?

The Concept Is Old And Is Ever New

And 

We Will All Live And Die By Its Outworking! 

Brethren, 

Should We Each Do An Internal Inventory Of Our Past Works Aka Deeds

We Will All Recognize And Remember That 

We Made Our Decisions To Act, Or Not

By Giving Vent To That "Glorious" Statement 

"Consequences Be Damned!" 

Today, I Ask Us All The Question: 

Should Not We Each Make Our Willing Decision 

For Eternal Life In Our Lord Christ 

By Saying 

"Our Consequences Are Blessed Of The Eternal God 

Though Apparently Executed By Published-Abroad 

Known-Ungodly And Accursed Men 

Inspired And Motivated By The Damned Devil!" 

Beloved, 

I Beseech Us All To Stand With The Brave 

Knowing That Jesus Christ Alone Saves 

And 

Raises His Blessed Dead To Live Forever 

In The Paradise Of God 

Where All Is Love, Joy, And Perfect Peace! 

Now Is Not The Time To Be Wafflers And Fence-Jockeys! 

Now Is The Time To Be Very Courageous 

And 

To Boldly Live Under The Abiding Love

The Gentle Gaze

And 

The Loving Touch Of Our Master's Hands!

The Lord Be Ever Praised!

Our Town Was Always Hopping! 

The People Were Wild And Wooly 

And

You Were Guaranteed An Experience 

Sure To Take A Few Years Off Your Life 

On Any Given Weekend! 

At Least It Had Been So 

Until Master Jesus Opened Grace 'N Mercy! 

Grace' N Mercy Was A Different Kind Of Establishment! 

It Didn't Sell Anything! 

It Had No Cash Registers

No Security Guards

And 

No Officious Sales Associates! 

Their Slogan, Written In A Strangely Comforting 3-D Bright Red, Was 

"New Lives For Old!" 

Truth Be Told

I Had Been Getting Tired, Really Tired, Of My Old Life 

So I Said To Myself: 

"What The Hay!?!" 

And 

Boldly Walked In Like I Owned The Place! 

I Was Met By The Master Himself 

And 

He Explained What I Would Need To Do 

To Get A New Life From Him! 

He Sounded Sincere

Had A Lovely Voice Which Was Truly Comforting

And 

His Offer Appeared To Be Legit! 

The Only Thing That I Balked At 

Was When He Said That I First Had To Get My Eyes Healed

Get My Ears Unstopped

And 

My Tongue Cleansed With Some Hot Coal 

From His Altar Of Sacrifice (Really!?!) 

And Then 

Empty Everything From My Pockets

My Purse

And 

My Tote Bag Before Stripping Myself Bare ... In His Presence! 

I Looked At His Cross-eyed And Said: 

"Pull The Other Finger!" 

Master Jesus Just Continued Looking At Me With Amazing Love 

And 

Great Compassion In His Beautiful Eyes 

Before Gently Touching My Right Hand With His Own! 

I Saw That His Hand Was Severely Marred! 

I Looked Up Into His Face 

And 

It Was Then That I Saw The Terrible Scars Across His Forehead! 

But, But ...!!! 

It Couldn't Possibly Be Him! 

I Shook My Head To Clear My Mind! 

Something Happened! 

Joy Flooded My Very Being 

And 

I Committed To Making That Transaction! 

Beloved, 

I Said All Of That To Tell You That 

My Old Crazy Self 

And 

My Wild And Wooly Town Started Slowly Changing! 

It Seemed That We All, Willing

Had Gotten New Leases On Life 

As In We Had Received New Life 

Just For Trusting The Word Of The Blessed Life-Giver! 

Truth Must Be Told:

It Had Truly Been A Great Day 

When Master Jesus Had Opened His Door

- Became The Door - 

In Our Town! 

What A Wonderful Change Is Being Wrought! 

Oh, The Peace That Passes Human Understanding! 

VESPERS AT THE END OF THE SABBATH: Rally Around The Lord Christ's Cross!

Brethren, 

I Don't Know About You

But 

I Have Noticed That Active, Willing, Sinning 

Is 

Now "The Thing!" 

There Is The Apparent And Obvious Trend 

Toward Letting Your Flag Of Personal Desire Aka Choice Sin 

Be Joyfully Waved And Flown High! 

Dear Ones, 

This Thing Should Alarm Us All 

And 

Should Also Cause All Of Us 

- Who Have Chosen Jesus Christ As Our Everlasting Portion -

To Be Humble And Hopeful Outliers 

- Not Out And Proud Liars - 

Who Distinctively Sound The Battle Cry Of Salvation 

And

The Invitation To The Welcome Home Feast For Christ's Faithful! 

Let Us Sow Seeds For Salvation With Our Lord And Savior 

Instead Of Scattering Seeds Of Self And Sin 

With And For That Serpent, Satan! 

Please Remember, Dear Ones, That 

Jesus Christ Creates 

But 

Satan The Damned Destroys 

And

Dare To Help Our Listing Brethren 

To See What Accepting The Gospel Of Grace 

Gains For Them In Almighty God's Glory! 

We May Cry Now In This Dark Night Of Sin 

But

All Of Christ's Faithful Will Eternally Enjoy Joy In His Presence 

In The Everlasting Morning In His Kingdom Of Light 

Because 

There Is No Night There! 

Be Wise For Yourself: 

Do Not Make Peace With Sin! 

Let Us Valiantly Choose To Make Peace With Peace!
