The Hidden Meaning Behind the Word IMPOSSIBLE

The Hidden Meaning Behind the Word IMPOSSIBLE

Most days, minding my own business is easy for me but this particular day was not one of them.
I sat and openly listened to the conversation going on around me because the theme of it was how “impossible” this is to handle, how “impossible” that was to overcome, and how life was “impossible.” Everything in the conversation was impossible.

I was so intrigued by what I heard that my thoughts went off on a tangent of their own as I tried to figure out why we, humans, believe that impossible is a word worthy of use, and why we automatically default to impossibilities when faced with life’s challenges.

I started writing the various definitions for the word “Impossible” on my notepad and was astounded to notice that there was a pattern emerging:

The Hidden Meaning Behind the Word IMPOSSIBLE
The Light of Life
Parts of Impossible
The Dark Side

Ten - they’re 10 reasons why you can do it
Untenable
Un-Able - you can’t do it
Ten - they’re 10 reasons why you can’t do it

Prop - lean on the Father
Rope - wrap up with truth
Improper
Imp - I’m going to give trouble
Rope - I’m going to tie you in knots
I’m Able - yes, I am!
Practice - you’ve got to work at it
Practicable - it can be done
Impracticable
Imp - I’m going to give you trouble
Able - you can do it
Surmountable - you can overcome it
Insure - look to your faith for insurance
Insurmountable
Un-Able - you can’t do it
Prep - you need to prepare yourself
Poster - write down what you know
Preposterous
peter (out) - your strength will fail before you accomplish this

The more I looked at the word “Impossible” and all the things it means, I realized that there was mischief afoot.
That’s when I saw the “Imp” who freely ran around wreaking havoc whenever we uttered the word “Impossible” which was the Pandora’s box in which he dwelt — obviously, he was not alone.
When I considered the kinds of friends someone like this would keep company with, I realized that it was time to expose him for what he is — a liar and a cheat and a perjurer and a trickster. A demon.
He was carrying his friends, Ill, Unable, Peter, Babble, Con and Rope to confuse, confound, puzzle and perplex us and cause us to throw up our hands in defeat. This is how they do it:

The imp makes us feel ill and useless and the con tricks us into feeling as though our strength has petered so that rope can tie us up in so many knots so that our thoughts defy logic rendering us unable to think of 10 things to put on a poster to give us the will to suit up and mount an attack to work toward our goals. In so doing, we will throw up our hands in disgust and cry “Impossible” and give up the fight.

Now, since we know how they lead us to failure and disillusionment, here’s how we can fight

them:
Nothing is impossible with God! Acknowledge it, believe it and live

it. We need to realize and accept that in each of us is the means to

solving all our problems. We need to be single-minded in the pursuit

of our goals, after saying “Thy will be done!.”

We must remember that we are indeed able and that we must suit up

for our success – must look the part – and make preparations to

succeed. We must acknowledge that we can’t do “it” by ourselves and

that our back prop is the Father.

We should then write (ink) down on our poster the 10 things which we

believe make this “thing” which we desire, possible, after we have

ascertained that it is indeed good and proper for us to have it.

We must then probe for the truth of the thing we desire, and imagine

that it is ours for the taking.

We are then required to put all things in perspective to make sure that

these things match, or belong together.

We should then map out the logical steps to be taken to achieve this

goal, and then take out insurance from the Father against those

naysayers who are purveyors of self-doubt and indecision.

Thereafter, with work, i.e., mental and physical effort, clear focus and

faith that all things are possible, we will overcome.

Anything and Everything is now indeed possible!

Impossible

Impossible is not a word

That I care to conceive

Because it makes a liar of

The King whom I believe!

And since the King whom I believe

Has never let me down

Impossible is not a word

Around me to be found!

For me, all things are possible

Impossible holds no dread

Believe God — He will deliver

And impossible will be dead! **BJC**

God Made YOU Unique!

Greetings, Dear Ones!

     Blessings upon you, and yours!

The poem today is for all of our young people who may be having a problem realizing or remembering that they are special, and an unique individual made by our Creator God to be like no other person on this Earth!

Psalm 139: 13-16 NLT
13You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

      Please don't forget to share!

     Enjoy!

Unique!

If I should look around the world
I’d see only one of me,
Someone may look a little like,
But I’m me, you know, just me!

If I would just remember,
That I’m unique — I’m me!
I’d never have a problem
Finding out who’s really me!

No one thinks like me, walks like me,
Talks like me, nor runs,
Because on the day that I was born
God said: “Make that one last run!”

Today I have decided
To remember who I really am
Since God thought I was special
I know they’ll never be another one! **BJC**

YOU are Invited to a ... PITY PARTY!

Pity Party

I host a Pity Party
When things are going wrong
The guests who come are just like me
But they don’t stay very long.

Feeling Sorry for My Self and Oh Poor Me
Are always first to arrive
And by the time Misery comes along
The party’s really alive!

A few hours in their company
Make me feel worst than before
And so I can’t wait for them to leave
To reclaim the life I adore!

I realize there’s no reason to fret
My life is a lot better than most
I tell my “friends” thanks for their time
And invite them to get lost! **BJC**

The Devil

The Devil

The Devil plays a dirty game
He has his own rule book
Don’t think you can outwit him
Cause you’re going to end up on his hook!

The Devil is a liar
His words are truth reversed
And if you are unwary
He’ll draw you in head first!

You cannot fight the Devil
Without sword, buckler and shield
For if you fight him unguarded
To him you’ll always yield!

Take Jesus — He’s the fighting sword
Buckler and shield — His truth
Swath mightily — you will stand firm

And you’ll get through your youth! **BJC**

Prayer to Humble Self

Heavenly Father,
Help me to humble myself before You
when Your Hand of chastisement is upon me.
Father, help me, I beseech You, to bend to Your Will
for my life before I am forced to break under your judgments.
I ask this mercy in the name of Jesus Christ.
AMEN

Crucify HIM Again

Crucify Him Again?!

He made the heavens, the earth, the seas.
Crucify HIM!
He created man to be like Him, and for worship.
Crucify HIM!
What did He ever do to you?
He made Redemption's plan to save you!
Ohh! Crucify HIM!

Refrain #1:
Have you no shame?
He has no blame!
He loves you, yes!
He's glorious!
Why crucify HIM again?

Refrain #2
He is the King! He has no sin!
He loves you, yes! He's glorious!
He is the King! His name's JESUS!
Don't crucify HIM … again?

Don't crucify HIM again! **BJC**

Praise HIM!!

Praise HIM!!

I feel Like calling Him, Jesus
I feel like calling Him, Lord
I trust my soul to His keeping, and
I dwell upon His word!

I feel like calling Him, Savior,
He's my Redeemer, too
He paid the price for my sinning,
I know He's Holy and true!

He keeps me in his tender care
His Holy Angels surround
His Holy Spirit comforts me
Dear Lord! I'm heavenward bound!!

I cannot keep from shouting
I can't help singing His praise
I'm gonna give Him all the glory

For all the rest of my days! **BJC**

Man's Favorite Pursuits

Man's Favorite Pursuits

She is ever the sensualist
He lives by all his greed
They are so very ambitious
And very proud indeed!

She is ever so puffed up
He is a stuffed-shirt by his creed
They complement each other
Love of money is their speed!

She's selfish, he's miserly
Both dishonest to boot
They fear no law nor justice
Will not fear to shoot!

Prayer? Bible? Believer? Jesus who?
When did you say we were introduced?
Then Put Him on the speed dial
We'll call Him if we need a boost!

Pride! Greed! Gluttony! Sloth!
Lust! Envy! And Wrath!
They indulge in them all
And, yes! Then they laugh!

Who cares what others think!?
We live for ourselves!
Why must you always butt in?
Who let you through our chain link?

They lived their lives like hedonists
Nothing to recommend them
But like the rich man with Lazarus
They're only fit to condemn!

It was only when in review
Their lives looked back in
That they recognized with horror
How foolish they'd been!

Those that they'd ill-treated
Those they'd robbed blind
Those they'd had wrongly punished
They now begged to be kind!

Alas, it's too late
You're no friend of ours
You despised us and you cursed the Lord!
Yes! THAT King Jesus!

No! We cannot help you!
There's enmity, there is envy, no love between
You sinners and the Savior
Oh, look! The opening scene!

The sky is unfurling
Rolling back as a scroll
Look! There! Upon a white horse,
With many crowns, is the Lord!

The graves are opening wide
Saints alive with the dead-in-Christ rise high
To meet our Savior in the sky!
Sinners, prepare to die!
I'm sorry!
Goodbye! **BJC**

Dear Friends:
Lest you think that Christians will gloat at the loss of the wicked, think again!

The Lord has said in His Word that it is not His wish that any should perish. So, far be it from the truth for us as HIS children – who choose to obey – to rejoice over those who are, or will be, lost. Let us, therefore, redouble our efforts to help prepare a people to meet the King.

Let us, if we can't preach, pray for, cook, feed, clothe, visit,
and love our brothers and sisters into the Kingdom.

Marston 'n Marcelle's Marriage

Marston 'n Marcelle's Marriage

Marston looked at the rising sun and saw
Another challenge waiting to victimize!
Marcelle looked at the same rising sun and saw
Another blessing – oh praise Him who supplies!

Marston looked at the mirror and there he saw
Miserable weariness on the face of years!
Marcelle looked in the same mirror and saw
Happy tiredness on a face with no fears!

Marston looked at the old horse and saw
Just another drain upon their oft' meager supplies!
Marcelle looked at the same old horse and saw
A faithful laborer who never gave a surprise!

He looked at Her and She looked at Him
Each looked at the other, and saw deep within
He saw the peace that she held most dear
She saw anger, bitterness, and much despair!

They both spoke at the same time!
Both wanted to be heard!
She said: “You go first!”
He said: “Don't be absurd!”

This, my friends, is how it is
When unequally yolked two partners be
She says: “It is an 'A!'” He says: “Oh, you mean 'Z!'”
And so, Dear Ones, they can never agree!

Darkness and Light, Blackness and White
She means By Faith, He means By Sight
She holds her Bible dear, He won't ever come near
He won't go to Bible Class, They are ever at an impasse!

For many years, Marcelle faithfully prayed ... to God!
For many years, Marston faithfully played ... the Fraud
Until one fateful day not too long past
He came very near to breathing his last!

And so it was that perspectives aligned
She asked to pray for him, and he ever so quickly replied:
"Dear Wife, I am sorry for all that I've done and been!
Pray to your Jesus! I need to be made clean!”

So after years of pleading and praying for him
Marcelle prayed to The Dear Lord, and asked Him to draw nigh
To her beloved husband along life's journey e'er long
And thanked the Almighty for His love so kind and true
For keeping this Dear One so that he, too
Could be welcomed into the Household of Faith
As he had now forsaken what was his great disgrace!

Oh clean him, Lord bless him, as he walks the narrow way
And by Your Grace, Father, we'll see You faith to Face!” **BJC**

Redemption Song

Redemption Song

a lie was told
godhood the goal
no death know good from evil

Eve ate the fruit
Adam shared the loot
we're naked but oh, how we feel the knowledge!

garments once bright
lost that great light
excommunion … leave thou Eden's Garden!

thistle and thorn
raise wheat and corn
sacrifice a lamb so you have modest clothing

childbirth in pain
first son named Cain
tilled he the land his sacrifice was not accepted

Abel was type
always did right
sacrificed to God a lamb as was instructed

anger in Cain
killed Abel great shame
vagabond marked no one can ever kill him

so now you see
problems for you for me
original sin we need a savior

third child arrives
Seth by name survives
The Savior comes right down through his lineage

one glorious night
Bethlehem was starry bright
appeared Prince Immanuel the Light of the world

age 30 baptised
age 33 crucified
He'd preached salvation for you and for me

Christ died He arose
He's alive all is disclosed
Coming again for His children living in the Light

keep hope alive
live right and strive
for God's Kingdom coming and a home by and by

pray to the Lord
stay in His Word
He's coming soon He's even at the door

amen amen
amen again

His Kingdom come again and again AMEN **BJC**

The Canvas of Life

The Canvas of Life

A new day is a sign to me
To let go of the past
It’s like a new piece of canvas
With no memories of what I did last!

With this my new-day canvas
I’m free to paint at will
I can choose a brand new medium
And paint it to my fill!

I look upon my canvas
Top to bottom, up and down, all around
Until the Inspiration calls out to me
 And master strokes abound!

And when my canvas is all complete
I take my rest and reflect
Upon the picture I drew through today
And know that it's my best yet! **BJC**

RICHES

RICHES!

Riches without SORROW – only God can give
For the rich man in his greed thinks he'll outlive
The poor, the meek, the beggar in the street
Because he trusts his riches against God to compete!

Riches without FEAR – only God can give
For the rich man in his arrogance thinks he has no need
For child-like faith, or Almighty God in his life
Since with his money he purchases the bodyguards he feeds!

Riches without GUILT – only God can give
For the rich man in his great pride believes
His money entitles him to achieve
Whatever, and whoever, his lusts can conceive to receive!

Ah, rich man, now poor man – if only you knew
The God of Creation is always watching you
To see if your riches will to His Glory attend
Or give you the things that'll cause you into hell to descend!

Repent ye, this day, and to the Lord give your praise
Don't worship the things that fade and rust away
Be kind to the unfortunate, the downtrodden, the weak
And at the first resurrection, up to Heaven, you'll be raised! **BJC**

Missionary Volunteers

Greetings, Dear Ones!

HAPPY SABBATH!

How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Have your feet been hiding out in socks and under blankets like mine have been these last few days? Fall weather has arrived and it is surely making its presence felt!

Today I want to talk about doing mission work - the purpose of this blog - and missionaries ... for Jesus. Isn't that what we are called to be? (Go ye into all the world ...! Mark 16:15)

Many of us, myself included, wanted to be missionaries when we heard the mission stories from exotic and far-flung destinations; when we heard about the Lord's mighty hand moving amongst native tribes in these various destinations, and the many miracles experienced by those in the mission field. That was the life!

Then we grew up, life interrupted, and we forgot the dream until one day we, you, me, felt, saw, heard, or smelt something ... .

Our offering today is about the pull  one feels when  "I Want to be a Missionary!"

Enjoy, and don't forget to share!

Be well, and be gloriously blessed,

BJ

I Want to be A Missionary

I want to be a missionary
But … I don't want to have to go abroad
Because … I have neighbors and even family
Who don't know – or believe – in God!

I want to be a missionary
But … I don't want to pack a bag
Or get a shot, or even a passport
I know that my parents will be glad!

My mission field … will be in my township
My passport … will be the Holy Word
My shot … is the Spirit of the Lord, and
My bag … is showing care, and fellowship!

Don't worry … about traveling abroad, Friend
Charity … begins at home!
Just grow … where you have been planted

And God … you He will defend! **BJC**

Hold No Converse With Satan

Hold No Converse with Satan

Hold no converse with Satan
You do not have the skill
To put him decidedly in his place, Friend
He will assuredly overcome your puny will!

Jesus Christ showed us the way how
To handle Satan's shenanigans
Meet him headlong, with the Word of God
Against that he cannot defend!

Lean not unto your own understanding
For you are made of finite flesh
You haven't the intellect, nor experience of life
Nor the capacity to deflect him in his strife!

Invite the Holy Spirit's indwelling!
Immerse yourself in the Word of God!
Inculcate good habits – reflect the Word, and
Inspire others to follow our Lord!

So when Satan attacks – don't engage him
Don't be intimate, nor try to negotiate
Just give him both barrels of your gun – THE WORD! and
Don't ever from this plan deviate! **BJC**

Ingratitude

Ingratitude

Some people real ungrateful
They are never, ever satisfied
With what the Good Lord gave them
They always want more, besides!

They behave like God is a teller
That says “Kaching!” when ever they yell
And worse they think that He is a jeweler
To give them a lil' bit o' bling as well!

They act like He's a full-time gardener
To be always checking out the seeds
That their pastors told them to plant so
They could get a new car with some real speed!

Every week, they are faithfully planting
Their seeds and believing that those seeds will grow
Into a house, high-paying job, college tuition or
Even change them into big-time media star!

I pity those people who believe that our God is
Dr. Feel Good, Mayor Look Good – never Is Good!
I pray that they will reform, and be contented
With all the bounties they don't believe they now have!

Everyday we hear reports of people hungry,
People dying, children crying, epic floods and
We who have are never contented
All we want is some more glad rags!

We are blessed, let's be grateful, and give thanks to
Our Father, in heaven above,
He provides, justifies, and sanctifies us
For a home where contentment never ends. **BJC**
