VESPERS AT THE END OF THE SABBATH: The Invitation!

Revelation 7:14 KJV
... And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The Invitation Came!

It Simply Stated: "Come Unto Me! Take My Yolk Upon You! Learn Of Me! Follow Me! Find Rest! Come And Dine!"

How Meh!

You Would Think That Someone Billed As "The King Of Glory" Could Afford The Razzle Dazzle Of Paid Writers Who Would Pull Out All The Stops To Appeal To My Carnal Nature To Get My Heart Racing, And My Worldly Desire To Be Seen Be Realized!

Nope!

This Invitement Was Blah, Plain, Pedestrian! No Bells, No Whistles, No Pretty Paper, No Colors Radiant To Oooh, And Aaah Over!

It Was Plain White!

It Didn't Even Have A Red Border On It To Urge My Attention!

It Was, Well, Pedestrian, Pedestrian Aka BohhhRINGGG!

Now, THAT Caught My Attention!

It Was, To Me, Saying, Take It Or Leave It!

It Had No Beauty, No Comeliness, To Make Me Want To, With Longing Heart, Decide To Accept That Take It Or Leave It Invitation!

Strangely Enough, I Could Feel My Jaded Heart Starting To Feel, Well, A Feeling!

With Now Trembling Fingers, I Opened The Simple Box That Accompanied The Invitation!

White ... Again!

Inside That Box Was The Most Beautiful Robe I Have Ever Seen!

White ... Again!

That Robe Of White Was Whiter Than Any Human Act Of Engineering Could Ever Accomplish!

The Feel!?!

Clean!

The Smell!?!

Clean!

My Heart!?!

Unclean!

Strangely, My Known-Rotten, Sin-Polluted Heart Started To Turn Over!

How!?!

Don't Know!

Why!?!

I Felt ... Him!

I Am Hearing His ... Heart!?!

How Strange! How Beautiful!

His Name Is The Truth And I ... Me, The Biggest Sinner, Liar, Thief, Ingrate, Self-Aggrandizer, Serpent-Lover And Battle-Buddy, Was Cracking Up!

I Lifted Out That Delicious-Smelling Robe Of Hope Powered By The Faith That I Had For Years Less-Counted, Called Discounted, Ignored, Denigrated Because It Laid My Sin Bare, And With Suddenly Swift Movements, I Donned That Beautiful Garment, And All The Hardened Parts Of Me Went Crashing To The Floor!

My Heart Clutched!

I Thought I Was Going To Die!

But, No ...!

I Am Alive!

I Have A Lively Hope!

I Was, I Am Going To Cross The River!

I Was, I Am Going To See The King ... Of Love! The King ... Of Life!

I Am Clean!

I Am Going To Stand Before Him And Not One Blemish Will He See!

Praise, My Soul, The King ... Of Heaven Because He Will Not Say To Me: "How Come You Are Here Without The Garment Of Grace That I Purchased For You And Had Delivered To You!?!"

Oh, My Soul, I Am Blessed And I Know It!

The King ... The Shepherd Of Rest ... Will Not Say To His Servants Concerning Me: "Cast This Unwise Person Into Outer Darkness Where There Is Wailing And Gnashing Of Teeth!"

Thank You, My Savior, My King, My Lord, My God, The Great Physician Who Gave Me Ointment To Heal My Blinded Eyes ... I Can See; The Great Refiner From Whom I Purchased Imperishable Gold Well-Tried In The Fire ... I Am Rich; And That White Garment From The Heavenly Habadasher  With Which I Am Clothed ...!

... No One Can See My Shame!

Hallelujah, I Sing To The King! I Bring Me As Tribute To Him!

Thank You, Dear Father, For Calling Me To Love The King, For Giving Him To Me, And For Giving Me A Willing Spirit, And Engendering In Me The Spirit Of Cooperation With Which I Chose, I Choose, To Use To Answer The Call To Everlasting Life!

Thank You, Lord, For Helping Me Not To Despise Simple Things!

I Now Have A Home Not Made With ... Hands!

Hallelujah! I Will Sing Of My Redeemer!

Peace!
