BUT
There Are
Have Been
Nice Things
- Not Considered Idols But Dearly Cherished -
With Which
I Did Once Willingly
Elope!

Sumptuous Food!
Lovely House!
Expensive Motor Car!
Nice Jewelry!
Hot Companion!
Clothing!
Shoes!
Vacations Afar!

I Never Thought My Stomach An Idol!
I Never Thought Of My Car As God!
I Never Considered My Career As Holy!
I Never Considered Jewelry Would Raise Me Up
Above Par

Until ...

The Day
I Had A Real Talk With King Jesus
AND
He Advised Me
Simple
Plain
That Anything
Which Occupied His Place In My Worship
Was My God!

The Statement 
Was Enough 
To Make The Blood In My Head 
Drain!

I Was 
Appalled!
Offended!
Distressed!
Light-headed!

Was Is It True?
Was Am I Bowing Before Other gods?

... Realization ... Slowly ... DAWNED!

Not Possible
BUT
Still True
I Had Set Me Up gods
Which Could Not
Save Me
Or
Give Me
Anything!

Lord Almighty,
I Am
- To Positions
Possessions
Privileges -
Become
An Idol-worshiping Slave!

Father,

Forgive Me

For This Gross Folly

For Permitting Another

In My Heart

To Occupy Pride Of Place!

I'm Sorry To Have Been So Foolish

And

For Bringing To Your Name Such Disgrace!

I Have Reordered

The Grace Of My Worship!

All False gods

Have

With Fervor

Been Destroyed!

You, My Lord

My God

The God Of My Salvation

My Soul Is By You

Now

Engrossingly Employed!

I Will Have No god That Can't Me To Heaven Lead!

I Will Have No god That Will My Eyes Tantalize And Deceive!

I Will Have No god That Has Not A Hearing Ear

And

Which Definitely 

Decidedly Cannot 

Hear My Heartfelt Prayer!

I Have Learned The Living Song

And

I Trust You, Father

The Living God

Who Can't Won't Let Me Down!

I Will Worship Only You, Lord

The Holy God

My Maker And My King

For

Everything Else

Is The Work Of Satan

To Turn Seekers Upside Down

With Gross Lies

And

To Destroy Our Hope 

Of

Going With Jesus Christ

And

Heaven Our Home Making!

Father,

Help Me This Day

To Walk Faithful And True With You!

In Jesus' Name

I Make My Plea

And

Take My Stand!
