I Bought Me A Sin!
It Looked So Delicious
I Couldn't Wait To Delve In
BUT
Such Was My Shock
When
After I Had Eaten
AND
Cleaned My Mouth With Much Pride
My Sought After Self-Satisfaction
Was To Me Oh So Grossly Denied!
What Where Had I Done Gone Wrong?
Not A Thing That I Could See!
The Sin That I With Deliberation Purchased
Was Totally All
It Was Billed To Me To Be
BUT
The Pleasure I Had Going In The Door
Was So Far Removed
On The Swing Of The Door Coming Back
That I Quailed
As I Wondered
If I Could Get My Investment Back!
Before I Could Say: "REGRET!"
Unintended Consequence Arrived
To Pick Up Its Pay
AND
I Had Time And Enough
To Recognize
"Disobedience Does Not Pay!"
AND
That All Who Encourage Us
To Walk In Our Own Way
Are Always Amongst The First
To Have Much To Say
When
For The Sin Of Presumption
We Most Decidedly Direly Pay!
Why Did I Do It?
How Do I Now Carry This Cross?
Is There A Life Undo Redo?
How Do I Stop Presumption
From Letting Sin Be My Slave-Driver Boss?
Lord, How Do I Get Myself
Rid Of This Cumbersome Cross?!
